February 3 (Sunday) at 2.30pm Annual Feis at the Irish Club -  This is for people intending to compete in the Midland Regional Fleadh (see below). You will have the chance to perform in front of judges (usually teachers from the group) and to get  feedback and tips. It is also a good chance to get used to playing in a competition setting.

February 23 (Saturday) at 8pm,  - Echoes of Erin Tour 2008 at 'University Hospital of Wales Sports and Social Club', Heath Park, Cardiff- A selection of twenty top class performers in all fields have been assembled to display the highest standards and regional styles that have become synonymous with these events through the years. These are the same performers who have already thrilled audiences throughout the length and breadth of Ireland during the Comhaltas Irish Tour in October 2007. This is an opportunity for you to hear and see traditional music, song and dance at its purest, best and most exciting. More info here

March 7 (Friday) at 8pm- Croabh Rua in concert at the Newport Irish Club - CRAOBH RUA (pronounced CRAVE ROO-AH) translates from Irish to RED BRANCH and is a name that is well known in Celtic history from THE RED BRANCH KNIGHTS OF ULSTER. This Belfast based Irish Traditional Music band has given concert and festival performances in the USA, Canada, Australia, Germany, Austria, Italy, Holland, Belgium Switzerland, Poland, Slovenia, Denmark, England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.
Their music has delighted audiences and earned them wide acclaim and recognition and they are now regarded around the world as one of the finest ambassadors of Irish Traditional Music. Craobh Rua’s impeccable musicians bring their own individual experience to the group and fuse their talents to bring life to a wide array of instruments such as banjo, mandolin, fiddle, uilleann pipes, flute, tin whistle, guitar and vocals. March 14 (Friday) at 8pm - One String Loose plus Donald Stewart and Friends at the Dewstow Golf Club St. Paddy's Do. For tickets see here

20th April (Sunday) - Midlands Regional Fleadh. Keep checking this space to find out if there will be a bus organized to go there. This will take place at Princethorpe College up past Birmingham.

May 9-11 Tredegar House Folk Festival - Local folk festival. Come and see One String Loose, Tan Bach and Donald's Big band.(all groups contain some members of Amairgin the Gael)  See more here

June 28/29 - All Britain Fleadh. Leicester.
